The Poet of Them All

This is a virtual gallery catalog of Neale Albert’s “The Poet of Them All” exhibit at the Yale Center for British Art.  This museum show allows the viewer to “walk” throughout the show by clicking upon small target icons. The museum chose to show only a few of the works in full detail with clickable icons for further information and a larger view of the work.
Unlike a traditional gallery catalog or static web presentation, these tours take the viewer right into the actual gallery where the show can be appreciated in its entirety exactly as it was laid out by the curator. This provides more of a sense of scale to each piece, while still providing an opportunity for a closer examination of the individual object.

The Academy Award for "Best Animated Film" was awarded to The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
A silent film with a main character inspired by silent-era comic Buster Keaton, it tells the story of a man whose French Quarter-dwelling life is literally blown away at the movie's outset. As he deals with his grief, he finds a refuge in a fantastical library in which the books have literally come to life. This charming 15-minute film is about the curative power of books and includes a miniature book!
