The Academy Award for "Best Animated Film" was awarded to The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
A silent film with a main character inspired by silent-era comic Buster Keaton, it tells the story of a man whose French Quarter-dwelling life is literally blown away at the movie's outset. As he deals with his grief, he finds a refuge in a fantastical library in which the books have literally come to life. This charming 15-minute film is about the curative power of books and includes a miniature book!

They are Giants
by Koert Davidse - A 12-minute video of Bibliotheca Thurkowiana Minor.
To be able to hold the world in the palm of your hand. Isn't that a dream of many people? A dream that can only be realized by making the world very small. Guus Thurkow has come a long way in doing just that.
The Bibliotheca Thurkowiana Minor is a breathtakingly beautiful old world library filled with hand-crafted leather tomes nestled in exquisite mahogany bookcases. No human has ever walked its halls, climbed its stairs, or sat at its tables because this library is no more than eight feet long and four feet high; its books no taller than your little finger. Good things truly come in small packages.

Not A Small World For Miniature Books
By Jessica Derschowitz - They're not the kind of books you'd take out of the library. You won't find them in a local bookstore, either. In fact, some of them are almost impossible to find at all, explains CBS Sunday Morning anchor Charles Osgood.
